Remembering Prince

Mr. Prince Gray Jr., age 64, of East Orange, NJ went to be with his Lord on Sunday, August 5, 2012. Prince was born to the late Prince and Dorothy Lee (Kelley) Gray on April 23, 1948, in Stamford, Connecticut. He was a graduate of West Side High School in Newark, NJ in 1965. Prince worked as a tailor for many years before he dedicated his life to taking care of his mother and took on the mission of spreading the gospel. Prince was active in his community providing the residents of Park Apartments in East Orange, NJ with God’s word every Sunday. Prince spent his life helping people, guiding people, and spreading God’s word. He had an impact on the lives of many and influenced many houses of worship including Friendly Missionary Baptist Church in Newark, NJ, None Other But The House of God in Newark, NJ, and New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Trenton, NJ to name a few. Prince was a memorable person who left a lasting impression on each person he met whether it was with his gift of song, his wit, baritone voice, word of encouragement, or eloquent speech. His voice was one that will ring in the spirits of all he has met for years to come. Prince will be missed daily. Prince is survived by his sister, Dianne (Gray) Ross of Raleigh, NC; brother-in-law, McKinley Ross of Newark, NJ; godson Kenneth Ward of East Orange, NJ; three nieces, Deirdra Brice of Bloomfield, NJ, Ella Ross of Raleigh, NC, Dorothy A. Ross of Orange, NJ; nephews, Christopher Holder of Raleigh, NC & Dario Lambkin of Orange, NJ; great nephews, Prince Rankin & Ian Holder; great nieces, Ymani Perez & Ayanna Ross-Bass; a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. Prince was preceded in death by his father Prince Gray, Sr., his mother Dorothy Lee (Kelley) Gray and godson Sean Booker.
